Andrea specialises in personal injury, medical negligence and healthcare advisory work and has extensive experience in the field of health and medical law.

After graduating from Cardiff University in 1993 with a degree in Law and Sociology and then gaining a postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Andrea joined the Welsh Office as a Trainee Solicitor in 1994 before transferring to Welsh Health Legal Services to complete her training contract. Upon qualification in 1996, Andrea continued to work for Welsh Health Legal Services for the following three years. She specialised in defending personal injury and medical negligence claims against NHS Trusts and Health Authorities within Wales. She also advised on a wide range of healthcare issues including mental health law.

In 1999 Andrea joined the Cardiff office of Bevan Ashford. Thereafter, she divided her time between their Cardiff and Bristol offices and continued to specialise in defendant personal injury and medical negligence claims, acting for NHS bodies within Wales and England and also the NHS Litigation Authority. She also continued to be involved in healthcare advisory work.

In 2001, Andrea moved to MLM as an Associate at the inception of the firm. She was promoted to Partner in September 2003. During the past two years, Andrea has continued to specialise in her core practice areas of defendant personal injury and medical negligence and has been involved in many complex and high value claims. Additionally, she has developed an increasing claimant personal injury practice. Her workload has included all manner of personal injury cases on behalf of both defendants and claimants. She has particular expertise in the whole spectrum of employer's liability claims, including stress and occupational disease claims. She also oversees the department's Miners' Compensation Unit, which deals with compensation claims by former miners for respiratory disease and vibration white finger.

Andrea is married and lives in Cardiff and has a son.
