Chris Mayers, Head of Employment, brings a wealth of experience to the Team. Chris has a diverse client base ranging from Local Health Boards and government agencies to individual Claimants. Chris has advised on many complex and unprecedented issues and is a regular advocate at the Employment Tribunal.

The Legal 500 noted Chris' active involvement in advising Local Health Boards:

"The new Local Health Boards are the backbone of MLM's work. Chris Mayers ... (has) considerable experience of working with NHS clients. Disciplinary procedures and contractural and commercial disputes are a major focus." Legal 500, 2003.

Chris has over 25 years’ experience of dealing with a wide range of employment matters, both contentious and non-contentious and experience in advising on terms and conditions of employment, service agreements, policies and procedures, redundancies, transfer of undertakings and senior executive dismissals. He is a member of the ELA.

Chris has appeared extensively as an advocate before the Employment Tribunals, acting for employers and employees, dealing with claims of unfair dismissal, sex and disability discrimination, equal pay etc. and also appeared before the Employment Appeals Tribunal.

Daniela completed her training with MLM before qualifying into the Employment Team. Daniela has a varied case load of contentious and non-contentious work. She has advised both public sector and private clients on a wide range of employment topics.

Daniela also provides seminars aimed at HR professionals and contributes to the MLM monthly employment update, which is available on this site.

After graduating in Law from Oxford University with First Class Honours in 2004, David qualified as an employment solicitor in 2007. David joined MLM Cartwright in April 2008 and is a member of the Employment Team. David has had a variety of experience in employment law matters, acting both for SME private clients and public sector clients, including local authorities and healthcare bodies. David has undertaken work in both contentious and non-contentious areas, in particular mass equal pay litigation, unfair dismissal and compromise agreements and has had experience of presenting training sessions to HR professionals working within the public sector.
